Community Building

Community building is essentially the process of creating a “sense of belonging” among residents that builds their collective ability to affect positive change in their neighborhood. Click here for more information.

Good Neighboring

The first step to community-building is to know your neighbor. Click here for more information.

Neighborhood Liaisons

NRC-Colorado organizes and sponsors a “Neighborhood Liaison Forum,” a growing group employees or volunteers of local government or nonprofits that interact or collaborate with neighborhoods or the community at large. More specifically, Neighborhood Liaisons support collaboration, education, and capacity building with their neighborhood or community partners. Click here for more information.

Livable CommunitiesPlaying on Sidewalk

A livable community is one that has many different pieces, such as energy and water conservation, supportive community features and services, and adequate mobility options, which together facilitate personal independence and the engagement of residents in civic and social life (Kihl, Brennan, List, Gabhawala, & Mittal, 2005).
NRC-Colorado is currently focusing on walkable communities, energy and water conservation, and Aging in Community. Click here for more information.
