Slow Food/Growerspeople carrying plants

Slow Food USA is a grassroots movement to that seeks to create dramatic and lasting change in the food system. They reconnect Americans with the people, traditions, plants, animals, fertile soils and waters that produce our food. They seek to inspire a transformation in food policy, production practices and market forces so that they ensure equity, sustainability and pleasure in the food we eat.

You can help change the food system in your neighborhood through community building activities such as:

Construct a community garden so that neighbors can grow their own food or grow food to donate to those less fortunate. For more information, contact Denver Urban Gardens.

Set up a vegetable exchange among neighbors with small garden plots to add variety to your diet and build relationships with your neighbors.

Carpool to the grocery store or local farmer's market with neighbors on your block to reduce your carbon footprint and support local businesses.
